Boyd Duckett, former pro staff director for AiRRUS Rods, used his fishing skills and our rods to capture the 37th Bassmaster Classic held on Birmingham, Alabama’s Lay Lake.
The 46-year-old Alabama native, competing in his first Bassmaster Classic, won with a three-day total of 48 pounds, 10 ounces.
Boyd sealed his dramatic victory by catching a 6-pound, 9-ounce largemouth at about 2 p.m. on the final day of the Classic using a Terry Scroggins N-Sync flipping stick.
Boyd also used our Co-matrix 457 AC701M rod to probe for bass with lipless crankbaits.
AiRRUS Puls-R rods, which won the ICAST “Best of Show” award last year, were not available in time for the Classic.
Boyd's Classic victory translates AiRRUS Rods' reputation for innovation and technology into a huge performance win.
And now our own Boyd Duckett wins the biggest prize in bass fishing.
Folks, we’re on a roll!
