NEW Airrus K-Lite Bass Rods Review |
Introduction: Since the departure of Ken Whiting a couple of years ago no one knew what would happen to AiRRUS Rods, and the following year the company was pretty quite. But as we saw at the 2008 ICAST AiRRUS is still active and actually quite lively by introducing the Copperhead Crankbait and Feather Touch series of bass rods. Well, things are still happening at Airrus and this year they are releasing a new product pre-ICAST. Let’s see what the new K-Lite series of bass rods has to offer.
K-Lite Rods: If you’re familiar with the Airrus rod series you might know where the new K-Lite rods are branched off from. It’s not confirmed but from the looks of it the K-Lite rods appear to be like their N-Sync model except the last portion of the handle is different. I think it actually looks better than the N-Sync as many people couldn’t get used to the entire graphite handle and the weird shape it had. Now with the K-Lite rods you are still holding directly onto the graphite blank but the aft part looks much more like a traditional rod. Complete Review |

The “Megaphone Effect” on the innovative AiRRUS Tradition |
Introduction: When it comes to drop shot fishing for bass, an ultra-sensitive rod can mean hooking up or losing out on the bite. The AiRRUS Tradition has the right attributes to send those taps from deep down through the rod and into your hands. Come see how the innovative Tradition spinning rod performs in drop shot fishing.
Impressions: Innovation never ends at AiRRUS. Ken Whiting, President and genius behind the entire line of AiRRUS rods does it again with the Tradition. The Tradition is nothing like we’ve seen before. This spinning rod looks stunning from end to end and is especially unique in the grip area where the blank appears to have an aurora glow under the sun. The craftsmanship throughout the rod is excellent and AiRRUS makes use of tip-top components. The red thread wraps with gold highlights are in perfect form and accentuate the composition nicely. Some of you might look at the reel seat and wonder, “what’s this?” AiRRUS uses a CAXIN Sc6 reel seat – a system that resembles ski bindings, and a method of securing a reel to the rod that’s been used in other countries for many years. Another win for AiRRUS with the equally high performing and versatile Ultra XL |
Introduction: Anglers have come to expect a couple things from AiRRUS Rods including high quality craftsmanship, great value, and above all.... industry leading innovation. AiRRUS takes more chances than any other rod company with the design and manufacture of their ever growing lineup of freshwater rods. Its no surprise that the company has won an unprecedented three ICAST new product showcase awards in a row from 2002-2004. We take a look at the current flagship of the AiRRUS lineup, the Ultra XL, to see if this rod possesses the same attributes that make these rods so popular.
Impressions: AiRRUS has only been around for a bit over three years and yet their product offering has been among the most robust in the industry. Product development is driven by AiRRUS President Ken Whiting, who has a keen eye not only in terms of design but when it comes to choosing pioneering new materials for each and every rod. Historically every AiRRUS rod has featured either an innovative new multi-modulus graphite blank design or an inventive grip implementation, and in some cases like the Spectra....both.
